Are You Ready to rAge?

It’s that time of year again! When all the geeks in Gauteng come out to play at South Africa’s biggest and best Gaming and Technology Expo – the one and only rAge expo. And this year promises to be even better than the last, with expected attendance continuing to grow year after year.

With a turnout of 25,000 + visitors expected, this year’s rAge will not disappoint. “Last year we saw an explosive growth of visitors, which grew by 29% from 2010. The expo thrives because of the passion and dedication of the video gaming community and its media, which will come through at the 2012 rAge once again as audiences experience a cultivated gaming culture,” says Michael James, Senior Project Manager on rAge. – http://www.rageexpo.co.za

If you are new to the rAge expo then one of the biggest events that is worth checking out is the NAG LAN. Hundreds of gamers in semi comatose states, eating and sleeping at their PCs in an attempt to be the ultimate victor! Definitely not for the faint of heart (or for noobs).

There is always plenty to do and see, with entertainments ranging from retail booths (where you will find amazing deals on all kinds of goodies) to technology and gaming displays and game previews from all of the major video game distributors in South Africa. You can find a full list of exhibitors here.

Another exciting event to check out is the Legion Ink Cosplay Competition. This year the competition has been taken to a whole new level thanks to a sponsorship from Corex. Entrants will be using the main stage in the same way cosplay competitions are traditionally held in Japan and other anime crazy countries. For the entrants this means an escape from the usual tiny stage hidden next to the Artist Alley and a chance to properly display their skills. If you are a fan of anime or cosplay then make sure to head over to the main stage and support them!

For more info and details about the rAge expo head over to their website. Also make sure you plan your attack beforehand by checking out the provisional floor plan, to see where all your favourite vendors and exhibitors are positioned.

If you are unable to attend rAge this year then have no fear! Your friendly Exclus1ves Digital Ninjas will be attending the Expo in order to report back on all the gaming goodness heading our way next year, so keep an eye on this blog!
