Diablo III – No free gaming for South Africans

Hold onto your hats, Diablo fans! Blizzard has recently dropped quite a bomb regarding Diablo III, in that they are offering the game for free! But as we all know there is no such thing as completely free, especially when it comes to Blizzard. You can only get Diablo III free upon signing up for a 12 month “World of Warcraft Annual Pass“.

The upside to this is that the monthly payments for the annual pass are about the same as what you would be paying anyway….the downside is that this offer is exclusive to players in Europe, North America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Blizzard is calling it the World of Warcraft Annual Pass, and not only does it get you a free digital download version of Diablo III, but you also get guaranteed access to the next WoW expansion beta, and an exclusive in-game mount.

The promotion only benefits World of Warcraft players who created their accounts before 18 October 2011, so if you don’t already have one then you’re not eligible.

That doesn’t mean your account needs to be currently active though, so even if you have not ventured into Azeroth in ages but own an account created before 18 October 2011, you still qualify as long as you have an existing WoW account associated with your Battle.net account.

I suspect that the reason behind South Africa not being included may have something to do with the guaranteed access to the Mists of Pandaria Beta. But then again there could be a dozen valid reasons.

Either way you can still get your copy of Diablo III from Exclusives.co.za. Make sure to pre-order your copy now to avoid disappointment!
