The South African Booksellers Association has announced the Nielsen Booksellers’ Choice Award 2016 shortlist. The R20 000 prize is given to the author whose book South Africa’s booksellers most enjoyed reading, promoting and selling. The winner will be announced at the Sefika gala event in Cape Town on Tuesday, 30 August.
The shortlisted titles are:

Immer Wes by Irma Joubert (published by LAPA Publishers)
Little Suns by Zakes Mda (published by Random House South Africa)
Recipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria Mystery by Sally Andrew (published by Random House South Africa)
Sweet Medicine by Panashe Chigumadzi (published by Jacana Media)
