An Interview with Batman Arkham City Lead Narrative Designer Paul Crocker

In the lead up to the release of Rocksteady Studios‘ second Batman game, Batman Arkham City, many people have been taking the time to interview Rocksteady’s lead narrative designer Paul Crocker in order to get the scoop on how much better the new game will be. According to Paul much has been improved since our last encounter with the Dark Knight in their much acclaimed game, Batman Arkham Asylum, and the experience of actually being Batman is more realistic than ever!

In his response to an interview with Jostiq, Paul had this to say about how long it took to truly get the feeling of being Batman right:

Well, the game has been in development for a couple of years and we pretty much hit the ground running. Obviously things change and evolve over time, but from the beginning we were pretty much feeling like we’d got it. By doing that so early, people start getting inspired to push it further and … we don’t really want to tell everything that we have in the game, but there’s some stuff that’s so cool, but we want people to be surprised by it. And those things have only happened because we’ve been able to constantly iterate and push and push and push the game.
