After a heated and unusual five-way auction, Harpercollins has snagged Lauren Beukes‘ partial manuscript for The Shining Girls. With the current recession publishers are having fewer and fewer auctions for titles, so this is definitely a special manuscript! Pegged for release in May 2013, The Shining Girls might be one of the biggest hits of that year.
HarperFiction plans to publish The Shining Girls in May 2013 in hardback in the UK, and in trade paperback for the export market, as well as in e-book format. It is the story of a time-travelling serial killer, who commits murders through time without being traced, until one of the women he tries to kill survives, and begins to unravel his mystery.
